Former PPS bus monitor indicted for criminal sexual assault

PEORIA (25News Now) - A woman formerly employed by Peoria Public Schools as a bus monitor has been indicted for criminal sexual assault.
Sentiryia Haywood was indicted for allegedly committing a sexual act with someone at least 13 years old but under the age of 18.
The juvenile was previously reported to be 14 years old.
She is set to be arraigned at 10:30 a.m. on March 30.
Peoria Police responded to the 500 block of West Lake on February 17 on a report of an inappropriate relationship between a woman later identified as Haywood and the complainant’s 14-year-old son.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives found conclusive evidence that an inappropriate relationship occurred. That evidence was shared with PPS administrators who immediately relieved Haywood of her duties.
Haywood was terminated on February 22.
