UPDATE 8:30pm - Sunday night, an agreement was reached following the second day of voting.

25News is told workers will now work under the new contract. The tentative agreement was ratified by 71.5%.

EAST PEORIA (25News Now) - Sunday is the second day of voting for members of the United Auto Workers union. The decision: whether or not to agree to the new proposed contract from Caterpillar.

Saturday, two votes took place at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the East Peoria Embassy Suites. There will be another round of votes Sunday at the same times. The four meetings scheduled consist of an explanation of the tentative agreement, a Q & A, and the two-day vote.

Topping off the list of asks is a $6,000 ratification bonus, guaranteed wage increases, and enhancements to parental and paid leave. Caterpillar and UAW have declined to comment until the contract is official in order to keep bargaining from being influenced by the public.
