Roller coaster temperatures this week, cold start Monday
Monday AM wind chills in the teens
PEORIA (25News Now) - It’s a cloudy, cold and breezy end to our second weekend of March. Unfortunately, Monday will be very similar, but even colder. Lows will fall into the mid to upper 20s and, with winds sustained up to 15 mph and gusting up to 25, wind chills will be in the teens to start the day. Highs will only climb into the mid 30s, which is 10-15 degrees below average. Clouds will stick around, along with the chance for a few flurries overnight and throughout the day Monday.

Here’s where the roller coaster temperatures arrive. Tuesday will be a touch warmer with highs near 40, but we’ll see mostly sunny skies (finally!). Wednesday and Thursday highs will jump even higher into the low to mid 50s, but then our next rain maker and minor snow chance will arrive Thursday and will bring a big cool down with it for St. Patrick’s Day.

We’ll see increasing clouds Wednesday ahead of this system. Rain looks to arrive as early as Thursday morning, continuing through Friday morning. It’s possible some snow could mix in on the back side of the system. Models look to wrap up most of the precipitation by lunchtime Friday but I think some lingering flurries or sprinkles will be possible for the rest of Friday into the start of the weekend.

We’ll continue to narrow our precipitation time frame for the end of the week, but it looks certain that St. Patrick’s Day will be below average, cloudy, and windy. Not-so-lucky there. The below average temperatures are also expected to continue into next weekend.
