PEORIA (25News Now) - If you stopped by The Shoppes of Grand Prairie, local artist were coming together to support one another when it comes to selling their art.
This was the first Central Illinois Art Market inside the arts window gallery at the Shoppes.
Artists set up the showroom with their incredible displays
Sunday’s event was a partnership with the Fulton County Arts and the Shoppes at Grand Prairie to empower the local artists in Central Illinois.
Coordinators for this art show say, it provides creatives with an opportunity to showcase their skills despite some barriers they may face when it comes to selling their work.
”It can be a lot to get out in the community where there’s a lot of barriers. Alot of that can be financial, it can be related to space so this is an opportunity to remove those barriers,” explains Derek Doyle, the President of the Fulton County Arts.
Some of the artists today came from canton and Bloomington.
Doyle also tells us holding this event was important because not many artists have a regular art studio to showcase their art so being able to meet with the shoppers at Grand Prairie helps to meet new customers.
