Prosecutors: Woman says she fatally stabbed boyfriend during an argument
PEORIA (25News Now) - Bond has been set for a woman accused of murder in the fatal stabbing of Lamario Billups.
In court, it was revealed that 22-year-old Heaven Kruzan was dating Billups.
It is alleged that someone in the home heard Kruzan yell so they ran downstairs and saw Billups lying across her lap and then called 9-1-1.
Kruzan then fled before being found by police where she allegedly gave a fake name.
Kruzan allegedly told police she and Billups were arguing when he grabbed her by the arms, but the attorney says not hard enough to leave a mark on her.
She then allegedly stabbed him, with a three-inch blade already on her that she used to turn on her computer.
She faces 20-60 years in prison.
Her bond was set at $500,000 - she must post $50,000 to leave the jail.
Her next court appearance is at 10:30 a.m. April 6.
