PEORIA (25News Now) - An 18-year-old charged with vehicular hijacking appeared in bonding court Friday.

Sentaries Farmer was the lone adult in a group police say was involved in an armed carjacking Wednesday night.

The group, consisting of Farmer, two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old, allegedly carjacked a person in the 1400 block of North Ellis and fled.

Police say they were observed driving near the 1700 block of Great Oak before fleeing at a high rate of speed.

The stolen car then crashed into another at the intersection of Main and University near Bradley.

In court, it was made known that the carjacking victim was dropping off food to his mother when he came outside and one of the four put a gun to his head.

Prosecutors say Farmer was already on probation for aggravated use of a weapon.

The judge says Farmer recently turned 18 and has a significant criminal history as a juvenile - and now as an adult.

His bond was set at $150,000 - he must post $15,000 to leave the jail.

His next court appearance is 10:30 a.m. on April 6.
