One Class at a Time: Life skills teacher taking students to ‘New Heights’
Peoria Heights High School Teacher Bethany Medlin is this week’s $1000 grant winner
PEORIA (25News Now) - Mrs. Medlin teaches 9th through 12th grade students of all ages with disabilities at Peoria Heights High School. They learn important life skills to prepare them for life after graduation.
Mrs. Medlin was nominated for the $1000 grant courtesy of CEFCU, and she’s this week’s One Class at a Time winner! When asked about what this money means, she replied, “Having this money is just going to give us a huge opportunity to help our kids learn how to make more recipes on their own, be able to go out and shop and purchase items in the community without having to be super strict to the budget.”
Medlin says one of their big focuses is providing good nutrition to those with disabilities. So, having a bigger budget now will allow them to make healthier meals rather than resorting to a cheaper and easier option.
Congratulations again to Mrs. Medlin at Peoria Heights High School!
