Man sentenced to prison for role in 2021 Peoria murder

PEORIA (25 News Now) - One man has pled guilty in connection with the January 2021 murder of Jevon Gilliam in Peoria.
Dearian Patterson was 19 at the time he was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Patterson was sentenced to a total of seven years in prison but will get credit for two years time served.
Two other men were arrested for the crime.
25-year-old Jamere Laster was sentenced to seven years in prison for the same charges in August.
Marvin Sanders was found not guilty last May during a second trial, after a deadlocked jury ended in a mistrial last January.
