Peoria Con
Peoria Con returns to Expo Gardens this weekend! Peoria’s premiere pop culture fest is back for another year of comic book, cosplay, and convention fun. Tickets for the event are being sold at the door.
When: March 5 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Exposition Gardens in Peoria
Cost: $10 per adult | $5 per kid

Marchtoberfest
If you enjoy Oktoberfest, then you’re in for an early treat! The German American Central Society is hosting Marchtoberfest, marking the end of winter and the start of spring. There will be a buffet featuring German meatballs, sauerkraut, German potato salad, and more. Attendees who wear a dirndl or lederhosen will receive discounted admission. There will also be musical entertainment and a full bar.
When: March 5 from 12 - 8 p.m. (buffet until 6 p.m.)
Where: The Lindenhof, 7601 N. Harker Drive in Peoria
Cost: $14 adults | $7for kids ages 6-10 | Kids 5 and under are free (cash and checks only)

Life as a Fur Trader in the 1700s
Enjoy the nice weather by going to Starved Rock State Park for Life as a Fur Trader. Journey back to the mid-1700s with living history actor Kevin Stonerock during a fascinating and entertaining presentation about the fur trade.
When: March 5 at 1 p.m.
Where: Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center
Cost: Free, but donations to the Starved Rock Foundation are welcome

“In the Heights” Musical
The music and lyrics of Broadway’s Lin-Manuel Miranda will soon play in Peoria. “In the Heights” is coming to the Peoria Players Theatre for the next two weekends.
When: March 10-11 and March 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. | March 12 and March 19 at 2 p.m.
Where: Peoria Players Theatre
Cost: $20 Adults, $15 Patrons 20 & younger

15th Annual Gospel Brunch
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is hosting its 15th Annual Gospel Brunch next weekend. The brunch will feature keynote speaker Marcia L. Fudge, the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and the Sorority’s 21st National President. Proceeds from the brunch will benefit scholarship and youth programs sponsored by the Bloomington-Normal Alumnae Chapter.
When: March 11 at 10 a.m.
Where: Doubletree Hotel, 10 Brickyard Drive in Bloomington
Cost: $55 Adults | $30 Kids ages 5-12 | Kids 4 and under are free

Denim and Diamonds Event
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is also hosting a Denim and Diamonds event next weekend as part of the Sorority’s 40th Anniversary celebration. There will be a live DJ as well as light appetizers. Proceeds will benefit scholarship and youth programs sponsored by the Bloomington-Normal Alumnae Chapter.
When: March 11 from 8 p.m. - 12 a.m.
