Bradley’s big dance dreams end with 77-51 loss to Drake
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI (25 News Now) - Bradley’s chance to play in the NCAA Tournament is likely over.
Sunday afternoon, the Braves lost to Drake in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship game 77-51. The Braves trailed 41-21 at halftime and faced an uphill battle in the remaining minutes trying to recover.
On its official Facebook page, the school issued a message of support for the team, saying:
“Tough loss for our Bradley Braves, we are still incredibly proud of your effort and hard work on the court this season. They gave it their all and played with heart until the final whistle. We can’t wait to see what the team accomplishes next season!”
In a post-game interview, coach Brian Wardle says the team is now focused on the NIT Tournament title. Bradley still has a chance for an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament, but chances are highly unlikely. The Braves are guaranteed a bid for the NIT Tournament because they won the MVC regular season title.
