25 Sports High School Tuesday - February 28, 2023

CENTRAL ILLINOIS (25 News Now) - The high school boys state tournament continued Tuesday with sectional semifinals.

In Class 3A, Peoria Richwoods rolled past Rock Island at the Galesburg Sectional 73-52. The Knights will play the winner of Metamora vs. Sterling Friday for the sectional championship.

In Class 4A, Normal Community’s season came to an end at the Moline Sectional, falling to host Moline 68-51.

In Class 2A, Normal U-High takes down Quincy Notre Dame 72-49 at the Pleasant Plains Sectional. The Pioneers will play the winner of Pleasant Plains and Bloomington Central Catholic for the sectional title Friday. Pontiac takes down Illini Prairie foe St. Joseph-Ogden at the Herscher Sectional 55-40. The Indians will face the winner of Prairie Central vs. Bishop McNamara.

In Class 1A, Illini Bluffs rolls past Elmwood 45-15 at the Bushnell Prairie-City Sectional. The Tigers will face the winner of Peoria Christian and Camp Point Central for the sectional championship Friday. Lexington defeats Decatur Lutheran at the Heyworth Sectional 64-56. The Minutemen will take on the winner of Cornerstone Christian and Salt Fork for the sectional title Friday.
