Food fighting for a good cause - feeding the hungry
PEORIA (25 News Now) - On Thursday night’s menu: delicious food and a side of good will.
It was the 9th annual Food fight, put on by Peoria’s Neighborhood House at the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria.
Ten local chefs competed. They received a mystery bag of items and had 45 minutes to prepare a meal from those items.
They are doing this to stamp out hunger in the Peoria area.
“All of our chefs are committing to bring over 400 tasting bites for our participants. They are giving of their time. Many of them are donating different experiences that we will auction off,” said Julie Bonar, President and CEO, Neighborhood House.
Bonar said she hopes they will raise $50,000 from this event.
