(25 News Now) - The boys high school basketball state tournament kicked into high gear on Wednesday with regional semifinals getting underway. At the Class 3A Washington regional, No. 1 Metamora stormed past Streator 77-46 while host Washington fell to East Peoria 60-55. At the Class 3A Peoria High Regional, Peoria Richwoods topped Peoria Notre Dame 51-40 in a crosstown rivalry matchup while Peoria Manual did the same in a 59-51 win over Peoria High. At the Class 3A Normal West regional, Morton beat Bloomington 68-43. The Potters will face the host Wildcats for a regional title on Friday as Normal West beat Champaign Centennial 71-52. At the Class 4A Pekin regional, Normal Community beat East Moline 63-45 while Yorkville topped the host Dragons 51-27.

At the Class 2A Prairie Central regional, the No. 1 Hawks got their state tournament run started with a 68-33 win over Clifton Central. At the Class 2A Normal U-High regional, the host Pioneers ran past Tri-Valley 62-31 while Tremont fell to Williamsville 59-57. At the Class 1A Lewistown regional, No. 2 Illini Bluffs beat Delavan 65-34. At the Class 1A Princeville regional, top-seed Peoria Christian beat Peoria Heights 60-47.
