Last call for popular roller rink

BLOOMINGTON (25 News Now) - Iconic Bloomington roller rink Skate ‘N’ Place will close for good Saturday, April 1 after 50 years in business.

Skate ‘N’ Place made the announcement in a Facebook post.

“We have sold the building. We no longer own it. We have made arrangements with the new owners to let us stay open for our customers to enjoy until then,” the post said.

In early January, the business said the property in the 1700 block of South Morris Street was sold to a “major” company that plans to convert the building into a warehouse.

No one came forward to keep a roller rink there, the business said.
