GERMANTOWN HILLS (25 News Now) - An entrepreneur with experience in cheesecake found a void in a small, Woodford County village and ended up opening his own coffee shop, too.

25News is highlighting African American men and women making businesses work throughout Black History Month.

“I don’t feel like I’ve ever been limited,” said Harreld Wester, co-owner of MadMac’s Coffee.

For Webster, 44, nothing is stopping him when it comes to starting his own businesses.

“I just have a passion for doing things, a passion for trying to be creative,” said Webster.

Webster started Triple Dipple’s in 2015, then opened a storefront in Chillicothe five years ago after leaving a career in maintenance.

This past summer, he started his newest venture: MadMac’s Coffee.

Webster says he received mentoring from another local coffee shop on how to get started.

“There’s payroll now, there’s a timeclock, there’s all those things I didn’t even know anything about because my background is not in business,” said Webster.

However, for Webster, it’s not about getting rich quick. He opened the shop in Germantown Hills to fill a void: there was no coffee shop.

“I don’t want to just take people’s money. I want to be a part of the community that we’re in,” said Webster.

Webster says his inspiration comes from his grandfather, an entrepreneur like himself.

“He was a jack of all trades in a number of different ways, and this was back around 1930,1940 when African American’s weren’t supposed to be able to do any of that kind of thing,” Webster continued, “Black people are achieving every day. Black people are doing great things every day. Black people are still holding onto their dreams outside of February.”

While Webster is working to find his rhythm in the coffee business, there’s no limit for where this business might take him.

“I would love to expand and maybe have another one somewhere else down the line,” said Webster.

MadMac’s Coffee is located at 361 Old Germantown Rd, Germantown Hills.

Triple Dipple’s is located at 940 N 2nd St, Chillicothe.
