(25 News Now) - There’s a new No. 1 team in Class 2A basketball in Illinois. Prairie Central is now the top-ranked team in the newest AP Poll released on Wednesday. The Hawks are 27-2 on the season with one regular season game remaining. They’re also the No. 1 seed at their own regional set for next week.

Elsewhere in small schools hoops, Peoria Christian beat Brimfield 60-46 in ICAC action.

In Big 12 high school hoops, Normal West clinched at least a share of the conference title with a win over Bloomington on Tuesday night. They can win the conference crown outright with a victory on Friday night against rival Normal Community.

In girls hoops, Peoria Notre Dame is gearing up for a regional championship matchup against Washington at the Class 3A Limestone regional on Thursday. The Panthers eliminated the Irish from the postseason a year ago.
