25 Sports High School Tuesday - February 14, 2023
CENTRAL ILLINOIS (25 News Now) - The high school girls basketball tournament rolled on with Regional play Tuesday. In the Class 4A Normal Community regional, the host Iron roll past Moline 72-49. The Iron will play Minooka in the regional championship Thursday.
In the Class 1A Illini Bluffs regional, Elmwood defeats Roanoke-Benson 55-42, and the host Tigers fall to Princeville 51-39. Elmwood and Princeville will play for a Regional title on Thursday.
In boys hoops action, Normal West clinches a share of the Big Twelve Conference title with a 78-71 win over Bloomington, Peoria Manual gets a rivalry win over Peoria High 66-61, and Peoria Richwoods falls to Peoria Notre Dame 48-38. In Mid-Illini play, Metamora cruises past Dunlap 71-48 to stay unbeaten in conference play, Washington edges Morton 57-54, and East Peoria defeats Pekin 50-47.
Also Tuesday, Eureka defeats Fieldcrest 52-39, and Brimfield defeats Farmington 43-39.
