(25 News Now) - There’s a new No. 1 team in the state in Class 3A boys basketball. For the first time in program history, the Metamora Redbirds are the top-ranked team in the state of Illinois. The 2022 Class 3A state runners-up have won 23 straight games en route to their new No. 1 spot. They play East Peoria on Friday night.
In small schools hoops, Prairie Central is celebrating their first conference title since 2002. The Hawks beat Bloomington Central Catholic on Tuesday night to move to 9-0 in conference play and win the title outright.
In Wednesday night action, Dunlap topped Ottawa 69-62 while Brimfield picked up a 47-38 win over rival Elmwood
