Police: Convicted felon arrested on multiple gun offenses, warrants in Pontiac

PONTIAC (25 News Now) - A convicted felon from Chicago has been arrested on numerous warrants and weapons offenses after police responded to a home with the man and a juvenile allegedly destroying property inside.
Pontiac Police responded at around 12:21 p.m. February 3 to a home on Motorola Drive. The resident was not home but received text messages with pictures of various damaged property directly from Deandre J. Williams, 26, who police say is a convicted felon.
Police say Williams was an acquaintance of the female who lived in the home, who told police he had several outstanding arrest warrants and was possibly armed with a gun,.
Williams and a 16-year-old boy emerged from the residence several minutes after police arrived and were detained without incident.
During a content search, four loaded handguns and a “host” of ammunition was found hidden in a clothes hamper.
Police say one of the guns was confirmed to have been stolen in Indiana and another had no visible serial number on the frame - a ghost gun.
Williams had three outstanding arrest warrants from LaSalle and Bureau counties and has been charged with multiple felonies regarding the recovered firearms.
The 16-year-old was released without charges to a guardian a short while later.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department assisted.
