Average gas price falls, remains higher than a month ago

PEORIA (25 News Now) - The average price of gas around Peoria has dropped 4.2 cents in the last week, now averaging $3.53 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s 148 station survey.
This means prices are 17.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 4.9 cents per gallon lower than this time last year.
The cheapest station in the River City was priced at $3.31 per gallon Sunday while the most expensive was $3.89 per gallon, a 58-cent difference.
Around the country, the national average is $3.44 per gallon.
The national average price of diesel is down 5.2 cents in the last week and is now $4.60 per gallon.
