‘Great’ fire engine arrives to help ‘great’ people of Ukraine

(25 News Now) - A fire engine from Chillicothe is now on the ground in Ukraine.

The Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District posted pictures on its Facebook page detailing the long journey to get it there.

Donating the engine was the easy part.

“It has taken many people doing paperwork, asking for favors, politicking and risking their lives to get it there. It has been trucked, flown, boated, and driven to get to where it is today,” the department said.

The department’s post concludes with words of appreciation.

“Thank you to all of them for making sure this great engine was put into the hands of great people that will use it to save lives and do good things.”

Next month will mark a full year since Russia invaded Ukraine.
