(25 News Now) - The 111th McLean County Boys Basketball Tournament champion was crowned on Saturday night at the Shirk Center in Bloomington. The five-seed Fieldcrest won their first tourney title since 2012 with a 48-44 win over Eureka in the title game. Landon Modro led the Knights with 21 points while Eureka was paced by Justis Bachman’s 18.
In the girls title game, Dee-Mack won their first-ever HOI Conference Tournament championship with a 52-17 win over two-seed Tremont. Addi Swadinsky led the way for the Chiefs with 14 points. In the third place game, tone-seed and defending champion Fieldcrest defeated three-seed Eureka 56-48.
At Metamora, the Redbird Roundball Classic wrapped up on Saturday afternoon with the Redbirds as champions. Class 3A No. 2 Metamora beat Peoria Manual 58-40 and South County (VA) 61-59 to win the RRC for the second straight season. Meanwhile, Class 1A No. 6 Illini Bluffs defeated Chicago Bogan 60-47.
In Mid-Illini action, Morton beat Canton 64-29, and East Peoria topped Limestone 55-43. In a big small schools matchup, Class 2A No. 2 Prairie Central fell to Teutopolis 60-35.
In girls action, Class 3A No. 2 Peoria High fell to No. 3 Lincoln 48-41 as Lincoln remains undefeated.
At the Mid-Illini wrestling tournament, Washington dominated the field to win the conference title.
