LEXINGTON (25 News Now) - McLean County Sheriff’s Police are asking the public to help identify a masked man caught on camera breaking into a Lexington business early Friday, and they believe the same man participated in five other burglaries at the same place since mid-November.
Police say True Value Hardware in the 400 block of West Walnut Street in Lexington was targeted again early Friday. Police posted five pictures of the man on the department’s Facebook page.
The suspect is a white man, about six feet tall, with medium build. Police say he was wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, black stocking cap, a bright yellow full-face mask, grey or black gloves, dark-colored jeans with tears or fraying on the legs and black athletic or slip-on shoes with a white sole. Police think his jeans and shoes in particular may help identify him.
In addition to Friday morning’s burglary, police said the suspect was present for burglaries at the same store on Nov. 12, Nov. 21, Dec. 7, Dec. 25 and Jan. 4.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the burglaries is asked to call McLean County Sheriff’s Office Det. Bryan Hanner at 309-888-5063.
