(25 News Now) - Metamora tipped off its annual Redbird Roundball Classic in style on Friday night as the host Redbirds topped Chicago Bogan 77-47. Ethan Kizer scored 32 points on a whopping 10 three-pointers to lead Metamora. Also at the RRC, Peoria Manual beat South County (VA) 68-53. South County is coached by Peoria Richwoods legend Mike Robinson scored 2,944 points in his career with the Knights and was a McDonald’s All-American. In Mid-Illini action, Washington rallied from 13 points down to beat East Peoria 45-41.

In the Big 12, Peoria Notre Dame scored a big conference win over Normal Community 44-31. Normal West was also a Big 12 winner, edging Peoria High 60-58.

Friday was semifinal night at the 111th McLean County Boys Basketball Tournament. In the first semifinal, five-seed Fieldcrest upset top-seed Lexington 49-48 to advance to their first title game since 2015. The Knights will play Eureka in the championship game. The Hornets beat GCMS 46-36 to advance to their second straight championship game. They’ll battle for the title Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Shirk Center in Bloomington.

In a big Illini Prairie Conference rivalry matchup, Class 2A No. 2 Prairie Central edged Class 2A No. 9 Pontiac 63-62 in overtime. In more small schools action, Class 1A No. 6 Illini Bluffs exacted revenge on ICAC foe Peoria Christian with a 45-35 win. In the Prairieland Conference, Farmington beat Elmwood 52-38 and Brimfield beat Lewistown 55-29.

In girls action, Dunlap beat Limestone 69-46 and Morton raced past Metamora 63-35 in Mid-Illini action.
