Foggy start, with rain showers and a light wintry mix today
PEORIA (25 News Now) - The Thursday forecast starts mainly dry across central Illinois, though areas of fog may reduce visibility for the morning commute. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through noon. Scattered showers will return to the forecast by late morning, with the potential for a brief changeover to a rain/snow mix as colder air arrives this afternoon. Temperatures will climb a few degrees into the low 40s this morning, before falling into the mid 30s by this evening. Westerly winds will gust up to 35 mph today.

A few flurries will remain possible overnight, with lows that will dip into the upper 20s. Slightly colder air is on tap for the weekend, with highs in the mid 30s under mostly cloudy skies Friday and Saturday. The next weather system of interest aims to bring light snow to central Illinois Sunday morning. Accumulating snow is possible, however the amounts will likely end up on the lower side of things.
