(25 News Now) - Wednesday brought us a few small schools boys basketball matchups in Central Illinois. In the Twin Cities, Bloomington Central Catholic raced past Dee-Mack 71-44 behind 35 points from Cole Certa. Meanwhile, Lewistown topped Peoria Christian 39-34.
In girls hoops, Metamora beat Limestone 68-58 in a Mid-Illini showdown.
Wednesday was also a special day for Metamora tennis coach Kelly Willard. He was named the NFHS Section 4 Tennis Coach of the Year for 2021-22. Willard was selected the winner over nominees from five Midwest states. He will be honored in a ceremony ahead of Metamora’s home basketball game against East Peoria on Saturday.
