CENTRAL ILLINOIS (25 News Now) - Friday is championship day in many area high school basketball tournaments. The State Farm Holiday Classic large school girls title match featured to area teams as Class 3A No. 4 Washington and Class 4A No. 8 Normal Community square off in the championship. Normal Community remains undefeated with a 47-32 win over Washington. In the small school girls bracket, Brimfield fell to Sherrard 51-44 in the third place game.

Meanwhile, Normal U-High squared off with St. Joseph-Ogden and Illinois State recruit Ty Pence for the title in the small school boys bracket. The Pioneers fall to SJO 58-49 to finish second in the tournament. Also in the small school boys bracket, Bloomington Central Catholic edged Rockford Lutheran 59-57 in overtime to take third place.

Class 3A No. 3 Peoria Notre Dame and No. 8 Peoria High met in the Peoria Manual Holiday Tournament championship. The Lions edge the Irish 61-54 in overtime for the title. Also at the tournament, Dunlap defeats Rock Island Alleman 65-30 in the third place game.

It was an all Heart of Illinois Conference championship game at the Peru St. Bede Christmas Classic. Class 2A No. 2 Fieldcrest remains undefeated, defeating Eureka 61-29 for the championship.

The Metamora Redbirds are headed back to Illinois from Mississippi as tournament champs. The Redbirds defeating Harrison Central (MS) 57-50 to win the Gulfport Holiday Classic title.

The Williamsville Holiday Tournament featured an all-local championship game. Class 2A No. 2 Prairie Central taking on East Peoria. The Hawks remain unbeaten, defeating the Raiders 55-34 for the championship. Also at the tournament, Peoria Christian fell to Springfield Calvary 55-49 in the third place game.

The Macomb Western Holiday Tournament also wrapped up Friday. Illini Bluffs defeats Camp Point Central 51-50 in the semifinal to face Eureka, who defeated Augusta Southeastern 56-25, in the championship game.

Also Friday in Mid-Illini Conference girls basketball action, Metamora defeats Pekin 52-29.
