(25 News Now) - We crowned our first holiday tournament champions on Wednesday night. At the 94th Annual Princeville Boys Holiday Tournament, Midland won the tourney title with a 39-29 win over Elmwood. Don’t worry Trojans fans, the girls team came away with a championship victory, beating Tremont 53-28 to win their 2nd straight Princeville tourney victory.

At the Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament, Morton bested Normal West 63-55 in a quarterfinal matchup before falling to top-seeded Moline 66-46. Metamora was a winner at the Gulfport Classic down in Mississippi with a 71-59 win over Madison Central.

At the State Farm Holiday Classic in Bloomington-Normal, Peoria High went cold in the 4th quarter and fell 46-38 against Wheaton Warrenville South. In the small schools boys bracket, Bloomington Central Catholic outlasted Bishop McNamara 76-71 to advance to Thursday’s semifinal where they’ll take on crosstown rival Normal U-High who outscored Fieldcrest 36-7 in the 2nd half en route to a 58-28 win.

At the Pontiac Holiday Tournament, Manual dropped a heartbreaker, 58-56 in overtime against Lockport. Meanwhile, Bloomington fell to Joliet West 76-58.

At the Williamsville Holiday Tournament, Prairie Central advanced to the semifinals with a 61-47 win over Peoria Christian. East Peoria also advanced to the final four with a double-overtime win against Calvary Christian.

In girls action at the State Farm Holiday Classic, Normal Community beat Morton 40-35 to advance to the large schools girls semifinals. Washington is also headed to the Final Four. The Panthers beat Plainfield North 63-49.

At the Manual Holiday Tournament, Peoria Notre Dame, Peoria High and Dunlap all advanced to Thursday’s semifinals.
