Friends and family search for local missing woman

EAST PEORIA (25 News Now) - Friends and family are looking for East Peoria resident Caryl Harrer. The last time anyone saw her was Sunday December 11.

Harrer lives alone and was last seen at dinner with a friend. In fact, Teresa Nelson says when friends and family went to her home to check on her, they found her door unlocked, one car gone and the other unlocked with keys in it, her beloved cat missing, and her take-home bag from dinner that night still on her countertop.

Nelson says “Something doesn’t feel right, and we need to find her because we love her. Just like everyone loves their friends and family and how important, especially around the holidays.”

She also says Harrer’s phone is going straight to voicemail and for several days friends and family thought she was ignoring them. After comparing notes … they’ve now filled a missing person’s report and are concerned she may be disoriented or experiencing some confusion. Nelson says they are hoping to find her before the winter storm arrives.

She drives a 2008 Gold Lexus RX 350 with the license plate #REVL 311.
