Renovations begin at Peoria Stadium

PEORIA (25 News Now) - Demolition crews were at Peoria Stadium Wednesday morning.
The $8 million project is set to bring new bleachers, a dome, scoreboard, and a new turf for the field.
Funding came from Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth’s efforts which were allotted through the state.
This is the first major renovation the stadium has had since Peoria Public Schools bought it in 1937.
In May project leaders told 25 News once the renovation is finished, new doors will open for students, along with new revenue opportunities for the area.
