PEORIA (25 News Now) - It was a cloudy Thanksgiving Day, but we’ll see some clearing overnight which will lead to a sunny day tomorrow. Showers will be possible this weekend, especially Saturday night into Sunday. Highs will remain in the 50s for the next couple of days before cooler weather returns on Sunday and for most of next week.

Tonight and Tomorrow:

We’ll continue to see mostly cloudy skies this evening, but we will begin to clear our overnight and tomorrow morning. Expect seasonal temperatures tomorrow morning in the low to mid 30s.

Aside from a few morning clouds tomorrow, we’ll see abundant sunshine for most of the day. Highs will reach the low 50s tomorrow afternoon.

Weather should cooperate for the Santa Claus Parade in Peoria tomorrow morning, which begins at 9:15 AM. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s for the parade.

This Weekend:

Sunny skies will continue into Saturday, especially through the early afternoon. We’ll see increasing clouds Saturday afternoon and evening ahead of rain which will move into Central Illinois by late Saturday evening or early Saturday night. Highs will be in the upper 50s.

Rain will continue overnight and into Sunday morning. Forecast models have been trending slower with this rain, but I still expect us to be dry by Sunday afternoon and evening. Sunday will be cooler with highs dropping into the mid 40s.

Rain will be likely Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Next Week:

Monday will be sunny but seasonably cool with highs in the mid 40s.

Most of next Tuesday will be dry, but showers and maybe a few storms will be possible again later in the day as a cold front approaches Central Illinois. Rain will continue Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. As colder air moves in, we may see a mix with or change to snow Wednesday morning if enough moisture lingers behind the front. Forecast models are trending drier for Wednesday morning, so for now chances of a mix are only about 30%. It will definitely be colder on Wednesday with highs in the upper 30s. Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 40s for the second half of next week.

Showers and breezy conditions will be possible by the middle of next week.
