Thankful for highs near 60° today!
PEORIA (25 News Now) - The warmest day of the week is on tap, with afternoon highs projected to warm to near 60° across the 25 News Viewing Area. Skies will gradually become partly cloudy and light winds will sustain out of the south from 5-15 mph. It might be a good idea to try and get a little fresh air this afternoon!
Temperatures will remain a few degrees above average for Thanksgiving Day, with highs forecast to top out in the low 50s. A cloudy day is on tap, with the chance for a few passing showers. Any shower activity appears to be fairly light and is not expected to bring any major impacts to travel. Shower chances may continue into the evening hours, before gradually coming to an end.
Dry weather returns for Friday, which is good news for those planning to attend the Santa Parade in downtown Peoria. Another weather system will bring the chance for rain on Saturday. The current timing keeps Saturday dry until the late afternoon/early evening hours. Rain should then clear out of the area for Sunday. The extended forecast features another weather maker that aims to bring rain for the middle of next week. Highs will run above average for most of the upcoming forecast.
