UPDATE (6:55 p.m.) - Bloomington Police say they reopened Veterans Parkway in both directions has been reopened after multiple crashes on an overpass on the city’s south side.

The accidents happened above Bunn Street, but police said there were no serious injuries. Police blocked off Veterans, between Main Street and Commerce Parkway during a peak travel time late Wednesday afternoon.

While police say all lanes are open again, they’re urging motorists to drive safely.

BLOOMINGTON (25 News Now) - All lanes of Veterans Parkway between Main Street and Commerce Parkway are closed after multiple crashes.

The Bloomington Police Department says they are responding to a nine-car crash in the southbound lanes near the Bunn Street overpass that occurred at 5:16 p.m.

As of 5:40 p.m., more crashes have occurred, according to police.

The road is expected to be closed for one hour.

Police ask everyone to avoid the area until further notice and drive slowly the rest of the night.
