Juveniles arrested for various handgun offenses

PEORIA (25 News Now) - 2 juveniles were arrested for various handgun offenses after a police investigation involving a juvenile male illegally possessing a firearm.

Peoria Police say that around 6:59 p.m. Tuesday, officers observed a male exit a home in the 1500 block of Bigelow and drive away in a vehicle.

Officers followed that vehicle when it came to a stop in the 400 block of East Corrington where two males exited the vehicle.

The two fled on foot and forced their way into a home on Corrington where they were taken into custody, according to a release.

Loaded firearms were found in the possession of both juveniles, while an additional firearm was recovered inside the home.

Both were arrested on preliminary charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a handgun under 21, no FOID, resisting arrest and home invasion.
