BLOOMINGTON (25 News Now) - The driver of a vehicle who died in a crash Monday on Bloomington’s south side has been identified.

Also, Bloomington Police confirmed three other people, including a child, were injured in the crash.

McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder says Chelsea D. Marshall, 28, of Bloomington, died of multiple blunt injuries due to the crash between a car and a pickup truck. Marshall had been driving the car, according to police.

Bloomington Police say three others went to the hospital - including a 2-year-old boy in a car seat in the back of Marshall’s car. His relationship to Marshall has not been confirmed.

Conditions of the child and two adults in the pickup truck were not known.

Police say Marshall’s car was traveling southbound on Veterans Parkway near the Main Street exit when it hydroplaned on the wet road, hit a median, became airborne and struck the pickup head-on in the northbound lanes.

“I want to give my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Marshall during this extremely difficult time as the loss of life impacts many,” Police Chief Jamal Simington said. “This is a very unfortunate incident and a stark reminder that it is every user of the highway system’s responsibility to do their part to focus on traffic and pedestrian safety. Please adhere to speed limits, wear safety belts, eliminate distracted driving, and to do not drive under the influence.”

Police said they’re still investigating.
