Discover Peoria wants you to know about this farm fresh Thanksgiving option

PEORIA (25 News Now) - With Thanksgiving right around the corner Discover Peoria wants to show you what the community has to offer when it comes to picking out your thanksgiving meals.

One local farm offers fresh, never frozen, turkeys. At Red River Farms they raise a couple dozen turkey’s each year and allow them to roam outside, cage-free. Owner of the farm Chad Fleck said he farmed like this because it was ethical, and his customers appreciated farm fresh foods.

“When they come out and see the animals and they see the process, it brings them a certain amount of joy and connection to where their food comes from. Which I think plays to their human nature in a positive way,” Fleck said.
