Digging Deeper: Sheriff’s office reaches out to domestic violence victims

PEORIA (25 News Now) - This week at 25 News, we’re Digging Deeper into the domestic violence epidemic, fracturing lives here in Central Illinois.
Kyle Beachy sat down with Aimee Shinall. She is the victim services coordinator for the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, working hand-in-hand with victims from the day they call police.
It’s Shinall’s job to make sure victims of domestic violence have resources they need -- from help in the legal system to shelter, or even a meal.
Sometimes, however, victims and families don’t even know what resources are available to them.
