East Bluff community comes out for Run the Bluff

PEORIA (25 News Now) - Over a hundred people woke up early Saturday to tour their neighborhood in the first ever ‘Run the Bluff’ 5K run and 1-mile walk.

It started at the East Bluff Community Center, where participants got to stretch out and get warmed up for the run. Participants did a loop through the neighborhood and ended back at the community center.

The run was created to help show off the positive things the East Bluff has to offer.

“Right now, we know that this is a neighborhood that does face challenges. We’ve had a lot of disinvestments in this neighborhood, and we want people standing up and say we want to keep investing. We care about people in this neighborhood,” East Bluff Community Center Executive Director Kari Jones said.

After the run, the community was treated to a pancake breakfast at the Community Center.
