Coolest day of the week, temps rebound this weekend
PEORIA (25 News Now) - Grab the extra layer out the door this morning as temperatures have dropped into the 40s across central Illinois. The cool start will be followed by a below average finish. Daytime highs top out in the low 60s under mostly cloudy skies this afternoon. Most communities aim to stay dry for high school football this evening, however it is possible that a few scattered showers may develop. Better shower chances exist late this evening into early Saturday.
The first weekend of Fall is looking good, as temperatures will warm back into the upper 70s for Saturday. Temperatures will run a few degrees cooler Sunday but are still expected to reach the low to mid 70s. The big difference weather wise on Sunday will be the winds, which are projected to gust up to 30 mph.
Northwest winds will continue to flow into the region early next week. As a result, temperatures are forecast to top out in the mid to upper 60s through next Wednesday. Dry time and plenty of sunshine will dominate the forecast for the first Full week of Fall. Have a great weekend!
