Visitors like the ‘Taste of the Heights’ after a 2 year hiatus
PEORIA (25 News Now) - If you drove through Peoria Heights Wednesday, you may have noticed Prospect Rd was closed from Glen to Marietta for a restaurant party in the streets! The “Taste of the Heights” event, organized by the Peoria Heights Chamber of Commerce, was held from 5 PM to 9 PM on Wednesday after being cancelled the past two years due to the pandemic.
Over 11 local eateries showcased their best dishes and drinks for all to try. They used a “Taste Token” system in which those attending had to use cash to buy one dollar tokens to exchange for food or drinks. The tokens could have been purchased in advance or on-site. It was a well-attended and successful event, and those in the Heights were glad to have it back.
A few restaurants featured for the event were Joe’s Italian, Hearth, Publik House, Sullivan’s Irish Pub, Slow Hand BBQ, Oliver’s, and more. You can find more information on the Peoria Heights website here.
