Fall temperatures arrive at the perfect time!
PEORIA (25 News Now) - The first day of the Fall season will feature considerably cooler temperatures than the previous few days (Remember the mid 90s two days ago!), with high temperatures projected to top out in the mid to upper 60s this afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy and northwest winds will be the key to the below average forecast today. Gusts will likely top out in the 20 to 25 mph range.
A very cool night is ahead, with temperatures forecast to dip into the mid 40s for much of the region. Friday high temperatures will likely finish a few degrees shy of Thursday’s highs, making Friday the coolest day of the upcoming forecast. Morning sunshine will give way to increase clouds during the day Friday. A mostly cloudy evening will feature the chance for scattered showers, though the majority of the time should trend dry. Seems like classic central Illinois Friday night football weather!
Temperatures are projected to rebound into the 70s this weekend. Saturday looks good to go for outdoor plans, but Sunday may be a little less favorable weather wise, as northwest winds are expected to gust to around 30 mph. The northwest flow will bring cooler air for the start of next week, with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
