UPDATE 3:23 P.M. - Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the man shot Tuesday night.

Christopher Tilman, 46, of Mableton, Georgia and formerly of Peoria, was pronounced dead at 9:43 p.m. after being transported to OSF unresponsive, not breathing and having no pulse.

Autopsy on Tillman shows that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body and likely died instantly.

Police were dispatched at around 8:59 p.m. to Taft Homes in the 800 block of Northeast Madison for a five-round ShotSpotter alert.

PEORIA (25 News Now) - A man shot at Taft Homes in Peoria Tuesday night has died late last night from his injuries.

Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says there hasn’t been any arrests yet in the case.

Further details relating to the death of the victim will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.

Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria were called to the area after a five-round ShotSpotter alert.

This is the city’s 18th homicide of the year.
