TAZEWELL COUNTY (25 News Now) - Today is National Voter Registration Day and it’s a little over a week before early voting begins.

Tuesday, dozens of new voting booths were delivered to Tazewell County.

This project was paid for with federal dollars and gives polling places across Tazewell County a uniform look.

The new booths are also ADA compliant with one stall in each group of booths at a lower height.

Tazewell County Clerk John Ackerman says it’s also important for everyone to double-check the location of their polling place.

“Congressional and State Representative Districts, State Senate Districts - they’ve all changed because of the once-a-decade redistricting,” he said. “So take a look at your voter registration card. Make sure that you understand which district you are in.”

Early voting begins next Thursday.
