BLOOMINGTON (25 News Now) - Another installment of Bloomington’s summer concert series was in the books Sunday, with the season starting to wind down.

‘Tunes on the Trail’ are concerts set outdoors for residents to enjoy for free. It’s a continuation of the ‘Lunchtime’ series that took place in June. Most of the events happen downtown or at Miller Park, but Sunday’s event was at Tipton Park South, which organizers say carries the sound of the music better.

Not only does it give anyone a chance to come watch, but for those behind the effort, it helps provide local talent with an accessible platform.

“I know our local musicians really enjoy any opportunity they have to play in the community, and we like to help expose the local artists as well,” says Bloomington Program Manager Jill Eichholz. “Plus, exposing people here to different bands, as well as our events are generally free, so it gives anyone the opportunity to come watch.”

Residents still have a chance to jam out later this year. The final performance for the series is scheduled for October 9.
