(25 News Now) - Class 6A No. 9 Normal West took their 3-0 record on the road on Saturday afternoon to visit Class 4A No. 4 Richmond-Burton but the Wildcats did not return with an undefeated record. Despite leading 19-13 at halftime, the Wildcats fell xx-xx to Richmond-Burton. In 8-man football, Peoria Heights fell to West Central in their homecoming game.
In soccer, Morton rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 draw against Normal Community. Washington also took on a Twin Cities foe as they beat Normal U-High 3-0.
In golf, Pekin won their own Dragon Classic title at Lick Creek and Parkview Golf Courses. Carter Stevenson led the way with a 3rd place finish for the Dragons. Normal U-High’s Nick Manning was the individual medalist for the Pioneers.
In cross country, Dunlap hosted their invite on Saturday morning. The Eagles won the girls team title behind a first place finish from Saniya Matthew, a second place finish from Abby Tudeen and a fourth place finish from Kate Robertson. Eureka finished second as a team, led by Laurel Munson’s 3rd place finish.
In the boys race, Lincoln’s Brenden Heitzig blazed his way to an individual win while Eureka won the team title thanks to a second place finish from Charlie Bardwell. Dunlap was second as a team.
