1 adult, 3 juveniles arrested after police locate stolen vehicle

PEORIA (25 News Now) - 1 adult and three juveniles have been arrested for various vehicle-related offenses after police located a stolen vehicle with help from a license plate reader camera.

Sadilya Y. Erving, 21, was arrested for criminal trespass to vehicles and resisting/obstructing police.

The other three juveniles, ranging in age from 14-15, were arrested for motor vehicle theft, attempted motor vehicle theft possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting/obstructing police.

The 14-year-old was also arrested for an active Peoria County warrant.

Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says officers responded to the 400 block of South Sterling to a vehicle theft at around 1:07 a.m. Friday.

The vehicle was found traveling southbound onto Louisa from Antoinette thanks to help from the license plate reader camera.

The driver fled from officers as they tried to make a traffic stop and the vehicle was observed driving through heavy construction barricades on Starr at Western and eventually became disabled.

The occupants of the vehicle then exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

All three juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
