Man arrested for weekend hit and run in Peoria

PEORIA (25 News Now) - A 44-year-old man is in custody for a hit and run incident Sunday afternoon in Peoria.

Peoria Police say it happened around 3:40 PM in the 200 block of West Romeo B. Garrett.

When officers arrived, they found a man laying in the grass near the road. Officers also saw a bicycle with visible damage to the rear wheel laying on the sidewalk.

AMT responded and took the victim to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A short time later, the driver, 44-year-old Thomas Jordan was found in the 600 block of West Romeo B. Garrett, and taken into custody without incident.

He was arrested for failure to report an accident, leaving the scene, and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
