UPDATE 3:27 P.M. - A man who fled from Woodford County deputies is now in custody, Woodford County Sheriff Chief Deputy Dennis Tipsword confirms.

Tipsword says the man, identified as Steven J. Werner, 34, allegedly robbed an Uber driver of cash.

Neighbors say it’s not the first time Werner has been in trouble with the law.

A woman was also arrested - Caitlyn L. Brewer, 28 - for allegedly obstructing justice.

Tipsword says she told law enforcement that no one was in the home once she came out.

Neither of them had a firearm.

Both are on their way to the Woodford County Jail.

The sheriff’s offices of Woodford and Peoria counties, Illinois State Police and the Central Illinois Emergency Response team were all on scene.

SPRING BAY (25 News Now) - Law enforcement has converged on Spring Bay after they say a man fled from Woodford County deputies and is not coming out of a home.

Woodford County Sheriff Chief Deputy Dennis Tipsword says it was not originally a domestic-related call but the man’s girlfriend is also inside the home - neither is responding to calls.

He is wanted for outstanding charges and ran away during an attempted arrest.

Tipsword says they “strongly believe” that the suspect is in the home.

The Central Illinois Emergency Response Team is on scene - staging at Village Hall.

They are using a loudspeaker to order the man out of the home.

The public is urged to stay away from the area and to stay inside.
