ROCKFORD (25 News Now) - The Winnebago County Coroner says a victim of Saturday’s deadly home explosion in LaSalle Saturday died from blast injuries sustained from the explosion.

The autopsy results for 57-year-old Michele Waters were released by Winnebago County Coroner Jennifer Muraski on Wednesday.

Waters was taken to a Rockford hospital for treatment following Saturday’s explosion, where she later died.

A forensic autopsy released over the weekend also found 59-year-old Robert E. Waters, who lived in the home on East Third Road, died from multiple injuries sustained in the explosion.

Multiple agencies are investigating the incident, including the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, the State Fire Marshall’s Office, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The cause of the explosion is currently unknown, although investigators believe it is an isolated incident, no foul play is suspected, and there is no threat to the public.
