Male victim shot and killed in Peoria’s 17th homicide of 2022

PEORIA (25 News Now) - Police say a male victim was shot and killed early Saturday morning, marking the River City’s 17th homicide of 2022.

Just before 6:30 a.m., police responded to a Shot Spotter alert of 12 rounds fired in the 1600 block of West Adrian G Hinton Avenue - near North Grove Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Peoria County Coroner will release information regarding the victim, as well as the manner and cause of death, at a later date.
